Center for Countering Digital Hate

Friend,

Online disinformation is tainting our information ecosystem and harming efforts to implement climate solutions, child safety, gender equality, and democratic resilience.

Fixing the disorder in our information ecosystem underpins the solutions to many issues we face today. It’s about time we brought this discussion to the global stage.

Leading the way, CCDH was proud to host the pre-United Nations General Assembly event “The Future of Information Integrity and the SDGs” at the UN Headquarters in New York, on September 22nd.

Moderated by our CEO Imran Ahmed, experts Melissa Fleming (Under-Secretary-General for UN Global Communications), Anne-Marie Slaughter (CEO of New America), Marla Blow (President of the Skoll Foundation), and Renata Dwan (Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology) discussed how we can create a safer internet for all.

Watch full panel and read Ahmed’s opening statement.

At an event with Panorama, Imran Ahmed also joined Tirana Hassan (Human Rights Watch’s Executive Director), Tom Brookes (CEO and Founder of the Global Strategic Communications Council and CCDH’s board member), and Dr Saia Ma'u Piukala (WHO Regional Director for the Western Pacific) to talk about the intersection between information integrity, human rights, and climate change.

Global cooperation is key to creating healthier digital spaces. CCDH will continue to foster conversations about our information ecosystem at global stages such as the UN, offering solutions to combat the crisis that threatens our societies and democracies.
