John, last year we made history.
When I became the first Black woman ever elected to Congress in Virginia, we sent a message to the country. It was one of progress, prosperity, and most of all — hope.
But John, the future we’re looking for — one where reproductive freedoms are protected, healthcare accessible, and democracy defended — won’t happen overnight. It’s going to take movements just like ours — not only in Virginia, but the country as a whole — to make it happen, and this November, that’s exactly what we have to do.
Leslie Mehta is in this fight with us. A proven champion for our shared freedoms and a track record of putting people over politics, Leslie’s running to unseat GOP Congressman Rob Wittman in Virginia’s 1st District and get us one seat closer to taking back the House this November.
Serving both Democratic and Republican governor’s administrations speaks volumes as to what her priorities are: our neighbors, our communities, and our home. As a constitutional lawyer with the ACLU of Virginia, she’s defended the rights and knows how to fight back when they’re threatened.
John, in and out of the courtroom, she’s an advocate for what is right. She’s exactly who we need to send to Congress this November.
It’s not going to be an easy victory, but together, we can replace Wittman with a pro-choice, pro-democracy champion ready to get to work for the people of our Commonwealth. Will you join me in supporting Leslie by chipping in $10 to her campaign for Congress today?
History is calling, and it’s up to us to answer. I hope you’ll join me.
Sincerely,
Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan
