Eric Adams’ indictment follows on the heels of an almost year-long federal investigation and multiple resignations from top administration officials, including the NYC Schools Chancellor and NYPD commissioner.
His administration has been consumed by investigations, scandals, and allegations of gross misconduct – and the impact has been felt in his leadership. His constant political crises come at the expense of our communities.
Mayor Adams’ proposed budget cuts earlier this year would have devastated public schools, libraries, and services for everyday New Yorkers. While some of that budget was restored, it’s clear that he does not have our best interests in mind and will continue to fail New York City with subpar leadership.
Our communities need and deserve better leadership. It’s time for Eric Adams to resign, and we fully support Public Advocate Jumaane Williams as acting interim mayor.
