Friend

Y’all. I have looked forward to this VP debate between Tim Walz (D) and JD
Vance (R) for weeks. How about you? Are you watching?

[ [link removed] ]YES, I AM [ [link removed] ]NO, I'M NOT

****After you click, we’ll share our amazing and powerful VP Debate Bingo
Card with you, which you can use to see how the candidates talk about what
moms care about most…and includes some fun new additions to our usual
BINGO card that you do NOT want to miss ****

Personally, as a West Virginian born and raised in Appalachia, I’ve had my
side eye on JD Vance for a while now. Yes, I read his book trashing the
people of Appalachia, and, well…bless his heart. [1]

With JD Vance’s awful track record of saying that women should stay in
violent marriages, [2] that parents in need of child care should rely on
the unpaid and often totally unavailable labor of grandparents, [ [link removed] ] and
that childless cat ladies should have less voting power [ [link removed] ]? WEIRD!

Now JD Vance is admitting to destructively making up and then doubling
down on racist stories about Haitian immigrants to fan the flames of
division and putting school children at risk, and even saying we need more
babies but voting against or just skipping votes on IVF protections [5,6]?
Again, weird!

Weird, creepy, and out of touch.

Tuesday’s VP debate should be illuminating and important.

It’s important because this man, JD Vance, who doesn’t know how to order
donuts, and has this weird and creepy track record, wants to be second in
line for the presidency.

We must pay attention to what JD Vance is saying and what he doesn’t say.
Do Vance and Trump have actual plans or just “concepts of a plan,” as
Trump has recently said, to address the issues pressing our families right
now?

When we watch this debate together and use the BINGO card to track what
the candidates are talking about and HOW they talk about the issues that
affect our daily lives, it helps spread awareness about what is at stake
in this upcoming election.

Listen, I’m not just tracking JD Vance’s unhinged moments and the
seemingly never-ending hit parade of insults to moms, grandmoms, women,
and families.

I’m also tracking Coach Walz, who has been coming through in good ways for
women and families time and time again – and if he gives us an “Ope!” or
some other folksy Midwestern charm! I’m celebrating that Coach Walz fights
for parents and our economy by, as Governor, passing paid family and
medical leave, expanding child care AND child tax credits, and reducing
childhood poverty in his home state of Minnesota. [ [link removed] ]

And we’re going to keep watching, including during this upcoming debate
(and at the ballot box).

[3]Join us! Playing BINGO is a powerful way for us to join together with
moms and caregivers across the country to lift the policies that matter
the most to us to give them some more momentum in the next 37 (!!!) days
before the election (It’s also a good way to get your kids involved too!)

And here’s an important thing to remember - you, yes you, are the most
trusted source of information for many people in your family and
community.

There are more than 94 million mom voters in this country. NINETY FOUR
MILLION. Together we have a lot of power to shape this election. Together,
we’re a powerful force for women and families. Ope!
