Goose Fair opens at 4pm today

Head to the Forest Recreation Ground for all the fun of the fair from 4pm today. With more than 350 rides and attractions, there are exciting new additions plus lots of returning favourites. Don't forget to sample the mushy peas and the Goose Fair delicacy, Cock-on-a-Stick!
SEND sessions will take place on Sundays from 12pm-1pm, offering a quieter and more relaxed experience for those with special educational needs and disabilities.
Money-off ride vouchers are available to download from just £1, allowing you to save 50p on participating rides and attractions from 4pm-6pm on Fridays and during opening hours on Monday-Thursday (not valid on Saturdays or Sundays). Vouchers can also be found in special editions of the Nottingham Post, Derby Telegraph and other regional newspapers.

Getting to Goose Fair
Due to confirmed industrial action, there will be no tram service to Goose Fair at The Forest tram stop. You can read about the disruption here, and we are advising visitors to seek alternative travel to the event.
Bus Plan your journey by NCT or trentbarton buses. Single adult fares are £2, or for just £8.50 the Grouprider ticket allows unlimited day travel on all NCT buses in the City Zone for up to 5 people (max 2 adults). The trentbarton zigzag group ticket allows unlimited day travel on trentbarton buses for £18 (up to 5 people).
NCT will run frequent services on the Yellow, Brown, Purple, and Lime routes, stopping on Mansfield Road at Forest Gate. Buses will run every 3-4 minutes on Friday and Saturday and every 4-6 minutes on Sunday. In the city centre, board these buses on Parliament Street or Milton Street.
Car Blue Badge event parking is available for £10 per car. There is no other public vehicle parking permitted on site. Please do not park on residential streets in the area - this will be strictly enforced.
Visitors can use city centre car parks including Trinity Square, Victoria Centre, Q Park Talbot Street, Crowne Plaza Wollaton Street, Lace Market, and Broad Marsh. It takes approximately 30 minutes to walk to the Forest Recreation Ground from the city centre.
During the tram strike, visitors can use the Wilkinson Street Park & Ride to 'park and stride' to the Forest Recreation Ground, which is a 20 minute walk.Â
Taxi Private hire taxis will be able to pick up/drop off on Bentinck Road.
Cycling Why not travel to Goose Fair via bicycle or on a Lime e-bike? E-bikes can be parked at one of the bays near the Forest Recreation Ground, or there is event cycle parking for both bicycles and e-bikes, which can be accessed from gate 11 at the junction of Forest Road East and Waverley Street. E-bikes can be hired through the Lime app, available on the App Store or Google Play. Lime is currently offering new users two free trips using code NOTTFRESHERS24, enabling new users to get to the fair and back for free.
Visitors could consider attending Goose Fair during the week when transport services will be less busy. You will also be able to use the money-off ride vouchers on weekdays, allowing you to save 50p on participating rides and attractions!

Watch the Robin Hood Half Marathon this Sunday
Sun 29 September City Centre
Thousands of runners will be taking part in the Robin Hood Half Marathon this Sunday, beginning at 9.30am. Why not pick a point along the route and cheer them on?
The race begins and ends at Victoria Embankment, passing iconic landmarks through the heart of the city such as Nottingham Castle, Wollaton Hall and Trent Bridge.
There will be road closures and disruptions to some bus services during the event. Due to industrial action, there will be no tram service on Sunday. See the list of road closures, NCT service disruptions and Trentbarton service disruptions.
