Dear Friend,
Today is Giving Tuesday Now, a worldwide day of unity and giving in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope you will choose to mark the day with a gift in support of USCRI’s work.

Over the past two months, our work has shifted dramatically, from welcoming newcomers to the United States to protecting the health, safety, and stability of those who are already here. Thousands of refugees and immigrants have lost their jobs. Misinformation about the pandemic is rife within immigrant communities. People are fearful of seeking medical treatment. Children do not have the tools they need to continue their schooling online.

In response, our staff around the country have leaped into action. We have:
* Distributed health and hygiene information in many languages, including the importance of social distancing, symptoms of the virus, and how/when to access health care,
* Prepared care packages of food, clothing, toiletries, and hygiene items,
* Made rent and utility payments to prevent eviction and keep the lights on for families in need,
* Provided interpreters for medical and social services appointments,
* Helped people apply for unemployment and other benefits, and
* Worked with technology companies and school districts to make sure immigrant children have computers and Internet access at home so they can continue in school.

Although our work has temporarily changed, the need we are seeing is greater than ever. If you are able, we ask that you consider a generous donation to USCRI today. Your gift can help a family stay safe and healthy – the overriding goal for all of us during this frightening and difficult time.
