NYC Mayor Eric Adams Charged With Solicitation of Illegal Campaign Contributions
Adams faces 45 years in prison if convicted. Just the News: A defiant New York City Mayor Eric Adams vowed to fight the charges he faces as prosecutors outlined a 57-page indictment on Thursday. At a news conference on Thursday, Adams told reporters the media saw the indictment before he and his team. Adams said it appears the federal prosecutors want to try the case against him “in public” rather than in the justice system. He reiterated that he is innocent and his lawyers will prove his case. After Adams’ news conference concluded, federal prosecutors held their own press briefing to lay out the charges. “Adams’ solicitation of illegal campaign contributions began in 2018 after he started raising funds for his 2021 mayoral campaign. He agreed to take contributions offered by multiple Turkish businessmen, several of whom he met in Turkey,” said one the prosecutors. “Adams knew that these wealthy individuals could not legally donate in a U.S. election. Federal law clearly prohibits foreign donations. That’s how we protect our elections from foreign influence,” they added. Adams said on Thursday he hasn’t accept any money from foreign donors ( Just the News). Biden, Harris Say UNRWA Terrorists Should Be Immune From Prosecution
Townhall: The Biden-Harris Department of Justice is under fire after it argued in federal court that United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) employees should be immune from prosecution despite being involved in the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks. The many people who helped Hamas terrorists facilitate the attacks on Israel are being defended by the Biden-Harris Administration despite taking part in atrocities such as murder, hostage-taking, and kidnapping the bodies of the dead and injured. In the lawsuit filed in June by the families of the victims of the attack, UNRWA revealed that at least nine of its employees participated in the terrorist attack, and one of its employees took the body of a murdered Israeli back to Gaza. Seven of the agency’s commissioners-general, deputy commissioners-general, and a director were also named in the filing. UN Watch Executive Director Hillel Neuer revealed that the agency’s ties to Hamas date back years. He also said that 1,200 UNRWA workers in Gaza are part of Hamas or Islamic Jihad, meaning there are operatives within the political and military organizations ( Townhall).

Biden Pledges $8 Billion in Additional Aid to Ukraine During President Zelensky’s Visit
Wall Street Journal: President Biden on Thursday directed that Ukraine receive the remaining $5.5 billion worth of American weapons and equipment previously authorized by Congress, underlining his commitment to Kyiv’s cause ahead of his meeting Thursday with President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House. The administration’s announcement includes separate funding of about $2.4 billion through what is known as the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, which will provide Ukraine with air defenses, drones and other weapons that over the long term will help to sustain its military needs ( Wall Street Journal). Daily Wire: The latest U.S. assistance package for Ukraine will provide more training for Ukrainian pilots flying American-made F-16s. Biden also said that the $8 billion assistance would give Ukraine another Patriot air defense battery and more Patriot missiles ( Daily Wire).

Biden, Harris Refuse to Support Israel’s Campaign Against Hezbollah
Reuters: The U.S. military is not providing intelligence support to Israel for its operations in Lebanon, the Pentagon said on Wednesday. Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh also said no Israeli ground incursion into Lebanon appeared imminent, but referred reporters to Israel for questions about its operations and plans. Asked about whether the United States was supporting Israel’s operations in Lebanon, including with intelligence support, Singh said: “No. No support.” It was unclear whether Singh’s remarks applied to the sharing of any real-time U.S. intelligence on Hezbollah missiles that might be heading toward Israel. Israel’s military chief told troops on Wednesday that airstrikes in Lebanon would continue in order to destroy Hezbollah infrastructure and to prepare the way for a possible ground operation by Israeli forces ( Reuters). Daily Wire: Hezbollah is one of the largest terrorist organizations in the world, receiving nearly $1 billion a year from Iran that it uses to fund its force of approximately 100,000 terrorists who are armed with more than 150,000 missiles, rockets, and drones as of a few weeks ago. The terrorist group is responsible for murdering hundreds of Americans in bombings that happened in the 1980s. Some of the terrorists that Israel has killed recently, who had multi-million dollar bounties placed on their heads by the U.S., were responsible for those attacks ( Daily Wire).

Karine Jean-Pierre Refuses to Comment on Kamala Harris’ Gun Ownership After Supporting Mandatory Gun Buyback Program
Fox News: White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Thursday declined to answer questions on Vice President Harris’ gun ownership and previous support of a mandatory gun-buyback program when announcing that President Biden would sign new executive action to address gun violence. The Harris campaign has not responded to multiple requests this week from Fox News Digital seeking answers on what type of gun Harris owns, in what state the vice president is registered and when she last went to a gun range. More than two weeks have passed since Harris declared that she and her vice presidential running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, are gun owners, at the ABC News Presidential Debate in Philadelphia ( Fox News). Townhall: Reporter: If Kamala is such a proud gun owner, then why did she sponsor a bill when she was DA that aimed to ban handguns in San Francisco? KJP: This is about responsible gun ownership! Reporter: It sounds like she wanted NO gun ownership ( X).

It’s just that families aren’t feeling the same way. FBI Report Documents Dramatic Rise in Hate Crimes Targeting Jews
Daily Wire: Hate crime data released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation this week shows that individuals committed a disproportionately greater number of hate crimes against Jews than Muslims in the past year. The FBI reported 1,951 anti-Jewish hate crimes between January 2023 and December 2023, and 266 anti-Muslim or anti-Islamic hate crimes. The new data follows a rise in anti-Semitic rhetoric and attacks after Hamas’ Oct. 7 terrorist attack on Israel, according to the American Jewish Coalition. Since that attack, many Jewish Americans have reported attacks based on their religion, and anti-Jewish protestors have demonstrated on college campuses across the nation. In the aftermath of the Oct. 7 attack, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre suggested that the White House had not seen “any credible threats” of anti-Semitism as she discussed whether the administration was worried about increases — then proceeded to discuss how “Muslims and those perceived to be Muslim have endured a disproportionate number of hate-fueled attacks” ( Daily Wire).

Independent Journalist Doxes JD Vance and Family
Hill: Independent journalist Ken Klippenstein was suspended Thursday from the social platform X after sharing materials about Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) that were allegedly obtained in an Iranian hack on former President Trump’s campaign. Klippenstein published the 271-page report compiled by the Trump campaign to vet Vance, now the Republican nominee’s running mate, on his Substack. An X spokesperson said in a statement that the journalist’s account was suspended for posting “unredacted private personal information” about Vance ( Hill). Elon Musk: This is one of the most egregious, evil doxxing actions we’ve ever seen. Presidential candidates are not speculatively in danger – there have already been two attempts on Donald Trump’s life. Moreover, the doxxing included detailed information on the addresses of their children ( X). Ian Miles Cheong: Ken Klippenstein just published the Iranian dossier on JD Vance, which includes his private personal details, personal phone numbers, family details and more under the guise of “journalism.” Klippenstein doxxed JD Vance. Publishing information from a foreign adversary that was obtained through criminal means for the sake of interfering in the election should result in him getting banned ( X).

Chinese Nuclear Submarine Sinks in Shipyard Near Wuhan
Wall Street Journal: China’s newest nuclear-powered attack submarine sank in the spring, a major setback for one of the country’s priority weapons programs, U.S. officials said. The episode, which Chinese authorities scrambled to cover up and hasn’t previously been disclosed, occurred at a shipyard near Wuhan in late May or early June. It comes as China has been pushing to expand its navy, including its fleet of nuclear-powered submarines. China says its goal in building a world-class military is to deter aggression and safeguard its overseas interests ( Wall Street Journal). BNN Bloomberg: China’s naval force operates 12 nuclear-powered submarines and 48 diesel-powered submarines, the Pentagon said in an October assessment of China’s military. The country is on pace to have 65 submarines by 2025 and 80 by 2025 ( BNN Bloomberg).

Appeals Court Open to Reducing Donald Trump’s $454 Million Civil Fraud Ruling
Fox News: Judges on a New York appeals court appeared open-minded and receptive to the possibility of reversing or reducing the $454 million civil fraud judgment in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ lawsuit against former President Trump. Trump appealed the civil fraud ruling that demanded he pay more than $450 million. The former president’s attorneys called New York Judge Arthur Engoron’s ruling “draconian, unlawful, and unconstitutional.” Trump attorney D. John Sauer argued that James’ lawsuit stretched New York consumer protection laws and said there were “no victims” and “no complaints” of Trump’s business from lenders and insurers. Sauer said the cause “involves a clear-cut violation of the statute of limitations,” pointing to transactions used in the non-jury civil fraud trial that dated back more than a decade. Sauer said that if the verdict is not overturned, “people can’t do business in real estate” without fear ( Fox News). CBS: The civil fraud judgment is one of a trifecta of rulings against Trump in New York in the past year that have hit Trump financially and personally. In January, Trump was ordered to pay over $83 million in damages to the writer E. Jean Carroll for defamation — on top of a previous $5 million judgment in her favor. In May, he was convicted on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in his criminal trial. Trump is appealing both of those rulings and has denied all allegations ( CBS).
