The shark fin business is booming – and so is the cruelty of “shark finning”, killing 100 million sharks annually. Often, the fins are brutally removed, and the sharks are discarded back into the ocean to die. The poor animals are still alive and helplessly sink to the ocean floor, where they either suffocate or bleed to death.

All for profit.

There are over 500 different shark species, varying in size and character, from the tiny dwarf lantern shark to the massive, gentle whale shark. The extinction of the species would ruin the balance of oceanic biodiversity.

Protecting and supporting shark populations is essential to halting climate change – and airline companies that still support the fin trade are fueling the destruction of the planet.
