This autumn, we’ll hear first-hand from some of the incredible activists who have been at the cutting edge of debt protests that have brought down ministers, forced U-turns on new laws and even toppled a President.

Justine Kapanga, who was at the forefront of historic protests in Kenya that brought down the government's proposed Finance Bill, recounts:
"People turned up in masses and occupied the entire city including the Parliament buildings. It was a risky affair and I even experienced someone being shot. We had placards and lots of people joined us in rejecting the Bill and demanding debt cancellation."

Many of those living in the 54 countries trapped in debt are demanding justice - and refusing to pay the price for a crisis they did not create.

On 16 October we’ll hear directly from campaigners in lower-income countries about why they’re taking action – and how we can stand in solidarity with their calls for debt cancellation.
