Friends, this election is a choice between building on our progress — or letting Republicans take our country backward. My multimillionaire opponent, Nella Domenici, is a risk to all we’ve accomplished as a Democratic Senate majority. While she has tried to distance herself from the GOP’s extreme stances on abortion, she’s Mitch McConnell’s handpicked candidate for a reason. In New Mexico, we have a saying — “Dime con quién andas, y te diré quien eres.” It means, “Tell me who you hang around with, and I’ll tell you who you are.” The folks bankrolling Nella Domenici’s campaign are the same ones who destroyed Roe v. Wade and are committed to passing a national ban. We’ve seen a radical shift in women's right to make healthcare decisions in this country since the Supreme Court overturned Roe. We can’t let anti-abortion extremists buy this election and roll back reproductive rights even further. We need to stand up for New Mexico values. But Nella and her dark money allies are flooding New Mexico with attack ads to mislead voters — with early voting beginning in a matter of days.
