The New Zealand First 2024 Convention is only a few weeks away and we have a packed schedule of guest speakers, workshops, networking opportunities, and contributing to the debate of our policy proposals. This is the biggest event of the year for our party members. 

Updates from parliament

Our team in Wellington have been busy progressing more New Zealand policy.

Over the past month that has included updates such as:

• Reversing the Oil and Gas ban with the introduction of a bill to amend the Crown Minerals Act
• The terms of reference for Phase Two of our inquiry into the Covid-19 response have been released.
• Amending Section 58 of the Marine and Coastal Area Act to restore the test needed to grant Customary Marine Title
• Introduced tougher sentencing laws by limiting the sentencing discounts judges can apply to criminal offenders
• An additional 142 officers being allocated to community beat teams and Gang Disruption Units across the country.
• Placing need and value before race and identity in the delivery of public services.
• Cracking down on youth vaping with a ranger of tougher restrictions and penalties, including raising the fine for selling to minors from $10,000 to $100,000

There will be opportunities to share your views and ideas and partake in debates in how we can make our country a better place to live.

Our organising team will work hard to arm our attendees with the skills and confidence to advocate for the party.

Where: Distinction Hotel, 100 Garnett Avenue, Te Rapa, Hamilton

The cost to attend the full weekend is $150 which includes the Saturday session, the Sunday session, the dinner on Saturday night, as well as the Leader's Address Public Meeting on Sunday. The price includes catering.
