FRC is proclaiming truth even as Big Tech tries to censor us!

Dear John,

Abortion is murder. This is a fact that is demonstrated both by the miracle of modern science, natural law, and the revealed word of God, the Bible. But unfortunately, countless millions have been deceived by the dangerous lie that abortion is "healthcare" or that it is somehow a cherished liberty called "reproductive freedom." As Romans 1:25 says, they have "exchanged the truth of God for a lie..."

Tens of millions of unborn children have horrifically lost their lives in America alone due to the proliferation of abortion in our nation and culture. But to make matters worse, the Left is determined to lie about the reality of abortion. Politicians and news publications are blatantly lying about the details to smear pro-life policy makers and demonize pro-life policies.

Left-wing outlets, like ProPublica and the New York Times, often lie about what pro-life laws prohibit and criminalize. But this isn't surprising; the Left has a history of lies when it comes to abortion, including the idea that a baby in the womb isn't a human being. In fact, Vice President Kamala Harris recently blamed "Trump abortion bans" for criminalizing "reproductive care," suggesting that pro-life laws harm women. The truth is that it is the Left's abortion lies that have deadly consequences.

Following the presidential debate between Former President Trump and Vice President Harris, I posted proof on my Facebook account debunking the ABC moderator's claim that "There is no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it's born." The fact of the matter is, 12 states have no legal protections for infants who survive an abortion attempt, as you can see from FRC's Born-Alive Protections map.

Despite this, so-called "independent fact-checkers" associated with PolitiFact, who partners with Facebook, decided to label my post as "false information" and artificially suppress it's reach.

This kind of censorship of the truth is not only un-American, it's dangerous. Here's what they claimed.

  1. PolitiFact claimed that "The Born-Alive Infants Protection Act amended the federal definition of a person so that 'any federal prohibition on any form of violence, including homicide, would be extended to an infant born alive after abortion.'"

This is a masterclass in how the Left deceives people. While the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act of 2002 (not to be confused with the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Act that Congress has been debating in recent years) did define a baby that survives an abortion as a "person," that's all it did. An infant that was actively killed after it survived an abortion would be considered infanticide.

However, if the infant died because the abortionist, with the acquiescence of the mother, did not give it medical care after an abortion attempt, federal law and many state laws do not allow for charges to be brought because medical aid is not required for that child.

In other words, leaving a baby to die after it survives an abortion attempt is perfectly legal in 12 states--and in three more, those babies previously had protections but now don't--which is exactly what I said in my post. Even still, politicized PolitiFact chose a pro-abortion agenda over the facts.

At Family Research, we've been sounding the alarm about the barbarism of abortion, and we've stood firm in fighting for the right to life from the moment of conception.

Situations like these demonstrate the critical necessity of the news, commentary, and information that FRC publishes through The Washington Stand news outlet, our podcast, Outstanding, our daily radio show, Washington Watch, and our expert policy publications.

When you partner with us, you help us promote potentially life-saving information to mothers, voters, and policy makers who want to protect life.

DEFEND LIFE WITH FRC

  1. Next, PolitiFact argued that "Perkins' claim [that Governor Tim Walz repealed protections for abortion survivors] misconstrues the Minnesota law passed under Walz's governorship. What the update did, ...was remove parts of the previous version of the law 'that made it sound as if multiple infants were being born alive following attempted abortions.'"

Here's the truth. According to Minnesota Department of Health data from 2021, while Walz was governor, five infants were born alive after an attempted abortion. In my experience, five is typically considered "multiple." Further, Walz signed a law that deleted the words "to preserve the life and health of the born alive infant" from Subdivision 1 of MN statute 145.423.

As Roger Severino, former Director of the US Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights, said, "Walz's amendments relieved doctors of any duty to give life-saving care to infants after botched abortion[s] (at least when the mother doesn't want the child to live). This means abortionists can and do get away with letting the cuts, poisons, and early delivery they inflict on babies in botched late-term abortions finish the job after birth."

  1. Lastly, PolitiFact claimed that "Abortions resulting in live births, while hypothetically possible, are vanishingly rare."

But the fact of the matter is that "live births" after an abortion aren't "vanishingly rare," the reporting of these live births is what is vanishing.

Currently, only 8 states (Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Texas) require reporting cases of babies surviving abortion attempts, after Michigan and Minnesota (under Walz) removed those requirements. Including Michigan and Minnesota, there have been 277 reports of babies surviving abortions across those ten states. And to be clear, this requires that an abortionist, who just tried to kill an unborn baby, would in good faith report that the baby survived, despite them having every incentive to not do so.

We've already disputed this "fact check," but Meta (the parent company of Facebook) has denied our dispute. But that's why we need your help! We intend to fight back against this censorship with every resource we have, and we're asking you to join us.

STAND FOR LIFE WITH FRC

The fact of the matter is that the Left would rather see dead mothers than pro-life laws. That's why they work tirelessly to smother the truth about the harm abortion causes every day. But FRC refuses to be silenced.

Make no mistake, if they're coming for FRC, they're going to come after you, too. That's why we've created cancel-resistant platforms like our Stand Firm app, so that the truth can still be shared, despite the Left's attempts to censor us.

We will continue to stand for the right to life on Capitol Hill and across the country until there is a prevailing culture in which every human life is valued. To echo the words of Martin Luther, "our conscience is held captive to the Word of God. Here we stand, and we cannot do otherwise."

The Left is determined to weave an insidious web of lies over the political conversation about abortion to justify the murder of the unborn. We can't let them get away with it.

Now is the time to take a stand for life. We cannot surrender on this vital issue. It is, quite literally, a matter of life and death for hundreds of thousands of unborn children.

As Deuteronomy 30:19 says, "...I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live."

John, will you join us in choosing life?
