Friend, happy Latine Heritage Month!
From September 15 through October 15, we celebrate Latine Heritage Month and the strength, resilience, and contributions of Latine communities across the country. As a proud Afro-Boricua from Puerto Rico, this celebration holds deep personal meaning for me, as it does for so many others.
The Latine community is a vibrant, multicultural mosaic, defined not by physical borders but by our multifaceted identities. We bring together diverse experiences, languages, and traditions that enrich our society.
Here at the National Immigration Law Center, Latine Heritage Month is not just a celebration — it’s also a call to action. We remain deeply committed to advancing the rights of the Latine immigrant community. We work tirelessly to ensure that everyone has access to what they need — health care, education, economic supports, and more — so we can all live with dignity.
This fight doesn’t begin or end in one month — it’s an enduring struggle for justice and equality. So, friend, let us unite to build a future where every member of our community can thrive. The journey ahead is long, but with your continued support and our collective efforts, we can achieve the progress we strive for.
Siempre en la lucha,
Kica Matos
