Just yesterday, Dana Perino made a crucial comment on the state of my race.
She said: "[Hogan] is just neck-and-neck with the Democratic candidate there."
It’s true. The latest polls have me in a deadlock with Alsobrooks. And, the Fox News Power Rankings have my race ranked as a competitive one that will come down to the wire.
But we’re still the underdogs and pulling off a victory is going to require us to push harder than ever before.
With voting already underway, just 40 days until Election Day, and less than 4 DAYS until my final FEC end-of-quarter fundraising deadline of the election, I need your immediate help.
We have an historic opportunity to change the narrative in Maryland this year by electing Gov. Larry Hogan to the Senate. But we’re running out of time with only 5 DAYS until our final FEC quarterly fundraising deadline and 41 DAYS until Election Day.
We're still the underdogs. This race is rated as “Lean D” in the Fox Power Rankings, but Governor Hogan has been in this position before. He knows how to win these tough races when the polls are tied by communicating his message to key voters. He is fighting for every vote.
Dana Perino said it best this morning: "[Hogan] is just neck-and-neck with the Democratic candidate there."
Gov. Hogan will not be outworked. He will not stop fighting to return strong, independent leadership to Washington–because that’s what our country so desperately needs right now.
But as Dana Perino said, this race is still neck-and-neck. While that’s a great sign, there’s still much to do between today and Election Day to pull ahead in the polls and WIN this Senate race.
We can end the paralyzing dysfunction in Washington.
But only by electing leaders who will not bow down to one person or one party–leaders who have a track record of doing what is best for the people, not what is best for their careers.
That leader is Gov. Larry Hogan, and he is ready to get to work on Day One to build a brighter future for Marylanders and Americans.
With Gov. Hogan’s final FEC quarterly fundraising deadline in just 5 DAYS–and the end of this race just around the corner–your immediate support will go a long way towards making this vision a reality.
When I launched my campaign for the U.S. Senate, I did so with a deep resolve to maintain the leadership style and principles that guided me during my eight years as governor.
Fifty years ago, my father, Maryland Congressman Larry Hogan Sr. made a tough decision. He became the first Republican to come out for the impeachment of President Nixon. He put aside party politics and his own personal considerations and stepped up to do the right thing for Maryland and the nation.
Today, Washington is completely broken because that kind of leadership and willingness to put country over party has become far too rare. But it’s not in my nature to sit back and watch the dysfunction continue without doing what I can to roll up my sleeves and get to work.
I’m under no illusion this will be an easy road. But I’m no stranger to uphill battles, and I know I can’t do it without your support.
I don't aspire to be a United States senator. I don’t need a title and I don’t need a job, but I’m more concerned than ever about the direction of the country and I have become more convinced that I can make a difference by taking the approach and style of leadership I had during my eight years as governor to Washington.
It’s no surprise this mindset has made me a target of the Washington partisans. Despite early polls showing a lead, I know I’m the underdog in this race. And that’s why your support TODAY is so crucial.
For eight years, we proved that the toxic politics that divide our nation didn’t need to divide our state, and we got results! Let’s get back to work again and send a message to Washington that will be heard loud and clear across the country!
