Friends,
As one of our most valued supporters, I just wanted to share a quick, topline update of our three key priorities right now.
Backing Kamala Harris: I’m absolutely thrilled that J Street is now the nation’s largest grassroots Jewish supporter of Kamala Harris’ historic campaign.
- So much is at stake: Not only keeping a chaos agent out of the Oval Office when the Middle East can least afford it, but also stopping Project 2025, restoring reproductive freedoms, protecting LGBT+ rights, supporting Ukraine, fighting climate change and so much more.
- Our community has raised over $5.5 million (and counting) to elect Kamala Harris and defeat Donald Trump. We’re not going back.
Israel-Hezbollah Conflict: J Street is gravely concerned that the intensifying conflict threatens to escalate into a catastrophic, full-scale regional war.
- This is a nightmare scenario that puts millions of Israeli, Palestinian and Lebanese civilians at risk, will delay Gaza negotiations further, and threatens to draw in American troops – just weeks before the US election.
- We strongly support President Biden’s multilateral 21-day ceasefire proposal to deal with the Hezbollah threat. It’s the best way to immediately de-escalate. We’re pressing the White House to use all leverage to make it happen.
The Gaza War: We continue to urge the Biden administration to use all possible leverage to press for a deal that brings the hostages home and ends the war.
- Hamas can never be allowed to return to power in post-war Gaza. Immense pressure on the terror group to seal a deal and free the hostages must continue.
- At the same time, we must be clear-eyed about Netanyahu’s efforts to undercut negotiations and prolong a war that’s blazed a path of human devastation in Gaza – all so he can stay in power and dodge accountability.
- He continues to put his own personal and political interests before those of Israel, and strong US pressure is needed to change his calculations.
Of course, we’re also continuing our engagement on Capitol Hill, including building broad support for a congressional letter calling for sanctions on Netanyahu’s two most extremist ministers – but more on that next week.
Friends, a final note: Unlike many of those we’re up against, we don’t have right-wing mega-donors or special interests funding our work; we have thousands of folks like you chipping in and rallying together. So if this work matters to you, please help fund it.
Your support of $18, $36 or $90 – or any other amount – makes all our work possible. Every contribution strengthens our movement at this critical moment >>
