John, The choices we make in the closing weeks of this election will determine the kind of future we build for ourselves and our children. Today, I’m asking for your help with a project that’s near and dear to my heart: putting an end to extreme partisan gerrymandering. It seems that Republicans have decided they can’t win on their ideas alone, so they’re trying to manipulate the maps and the rules in order to hold onto power. Every time they succeed, our democracy gets weaker. It’s not just about who gets representation and who doesn’t — it’s about the basic principle that holds the American experiment together: the idea that, in a democracy, every voice matters. Unfortunately, this issue just isn’t on the radar for most voters. That’s why it’s so important for the people who get it — and I’m looking at you, John — to do everything we can to stop politicians from picking their voters instead of the other way around.
I want to be clear about one thing: A donation is about more than just the money. It means you have skin in the game. No matter the amount, your contribution is a symbol of your commitment to building a stronger, fairer democracy. I've been proud to support the NDR PAC and my friend Eric Holder over the past seven years, and I’ve seen them develop and execute a comprehensive plan to put a stop to Republican gerrymandering. It’s because of that work that Americans are voting in an election with some of the fairest maps of our lifetimes. John, now I’m asking you to join me — to place your trust in the NDR PAC and to believe that, together, we can and will protect our democracy. Hope to see you out there — thank you,
