Current polling confirms Georgia is a battleground state, and every single vote is going to matter. But as we move closer to Election Day, it feels like roadblocks and barriers to accessing the ballot box and having our votes counted are increasing.
Voter suppression tactics have become more aggressive as officials use administrative power to alter rules and limit voting access. Recent legislation passed in Georgia, like SB 202 and SB 189, fit together like a sinister right-wing web to suppress our votes.
Right now, Fair Fight has our eyes set on the Georgia State Election Board, which currently has a Trump-endorsed majority. This board is changing rules close to the election, including new ballot counting rules that will slow down the process on election night.
These rule changes cannot stand, and we won’t be intimidated by the number of threats that have risen. On the contrary, Fair Fight has been preparing for this election season — with help from supporters like you. We’re mobilizing against mass voter challenges and we’re preparing to turn out voters over the next six weeks. You help power this critical work to protect the right to vote, and I hope you know how incredibly grateful I am for your contributions.
It’s countdown to Election Day, and there’s still so much we need to do between now and November 5. We need your help to ensure fair elections, to support pro-voter candidates in crucial races, and to turn out the vote in unprecedented numbers. Every action, no matter how small, contributes to our collective effort to protect voting rights and strengthen our democracy.
And remember, this election is not just about fighting against something, it’s about fighting for something — our freedom and our future. We can’t just hope for a fair election, we have to work for it.
See you at the polls,
Lauren Groh-Wargo
