Hi John, it’s Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I need to talk to you about something important.

Not about movies or TV shows — though Adam and I do share a passion for them.

Instead, I want to share a bit about myself and talk about why we need to send Adam Schiff to the Senate. I’m a lifelong Californian. Born in LA, and raised in Sherman Oaks, I graduated from Van Nuys High School.

My parents encouraged me to be politically active from a young age. My mom, Jane Gordon, even ran for Congress here before I was born.

I’ve always believed in lending a helping hand and making a difference for everyone — not just the privileged few. Donald Trump and Adam’s GOP opponent, Steve Garvey, don’t care about working families — they never have and never will. As Trump made clear again this week when his remarks to rich donors were leaked, they’re all about giving more tax cuts to the rich.

For years, Adam has delivered on lowering costs and expanding access to healthcare. He’s fought to improve public transportation in Southern California. And in a great service to every American, he has bravely defended our democracy and the rule of law against Trump’s many, many attempts to dismantle our system for his own gain.

For that, Adam has been on the receiving end of some pretty vile and personal attacks (and trust me, as an actor, I’ve had my fair share of critics, so I know the feeling).

But Adam has never wavered in his work to make a difference and stand up for what is right. And that’s exactly what we need in the U.S. Senate. That’s why I’m asking:

Will you make a contribution of $10 or any amount to support Adam’s campaign? With time running out until his public FEC fundraising deadline, your immediate support is key to defeating the far-right megadonors trying to buy this election for Trump and his allies to ensure Democrats win up and down the ballot on November 5.
