Dear John,
During my years reporting on immigration, I’ve seen just how few people truly understand our immigration process. The rest – including political candidates and elected representatives, on social media or on the floor of Congress – would rather treat immigrants as culture-war boogeymen than learn about a system that affects people’s lives.
I joined the American Immigration Council because, now more than ever, people need a trusted source. The Council is the antidote to misinformation, leading the way toward a fairer, more knowledgeable and more humane America.

Leaders in journalism, government, business and more all lean on the Council as a credible resource on immigration. Our research and analysis is rigorous and accessible, providing simple, accurate breakdowns of some of the most complex issues related to immigration.

We’re entering the last weeks of a busy campaign season. Unfortunately, we know that the misinformation, disinformation and outright demonization of immigrants aren’t going to slow down.
If you value accuracy, credibility, and honesty in immigration reporting, please support the Council’s critical work today. [[link removed]] The Council has set a goal to raise $5,000 by the end of the month, and we are so close to crossing the finish line. Can we count on you?
With your support, we can refocus the political debate around the realities of immigration policy and their effects on immigrants’ lives. We can create a nation where we embrace both our immigrant past, and our shared future.
Sincerely,
Dara Lind
Senior Fellow
P.S. The Council’s work could not be more vital and valuable. Before our September 30 fundraising deadline, please consider making a generous gift of support to fuel that work. [[link removed]]
