Buckle up y'all, because we've got some HUGE news to share. Some might even say Texas-sized...
This October, we're partnering with the Bullock Texas State History Museum to bring "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" to the big screen, 50 years after its initial release, with screenwriter Kim Henkel, star Teri McMinn and composer Wayne Bell in attendance.
One of the most iconic films in the history of American cinema, "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" helped establish Texas as a home to groundbreaking, fearless artistry and set a template for independent filmmaking that countless artists emulate to this day.
Unsurprisingly, this screening is officially *sold out.* We'll see y'all at the movies — try not to scream too loud!

On the Road Again With the TFC
On the Road
We love Austin, but it's always nice to hit the road and spread the word about everything the Texas Film Commission can do for the Lone Star State's moving image industries professionals. Here's just a few of the places we've visited recently:
* Michelle Habecker took a quick trip down to *Jersey Village* to officially welcome them into the Film Friendly Texas certification program.
* Stephanie Whallon, Matt Miller and Cassandra Ariztegui flew out to sunny *Los Angeles* to take part in the Association of Film Commissions International's annual AFCI Week, where they met with industry representatives and promoted Texas as the premier destination for media production.
* Steven McCaig and Robert Rodriguez made the drive down to *Houston* to participate in the second-annual Houston Media Conference, hosted by the Houston Cinema Arts Society and the Southwest Alternative Media Project.
* Matt drove up to *Cedar Park* to present the city with a certificate celebrating the community as the first-ever Digital Media Friendly Texas Certified Community.
* Alex Payne made his way to *El Paso* to participate in the Plaza Classic Film Festival, where he met Texas icon Sissy Spacek.
* Stephanie, Cassandra, Will Zech and Ashley Robinson visited the set of "1923 "here in *Austin*, where they had the opportunity to meet Timothy Dalton (and got a glimpse of Harrison Ford, not that we're bragging).

Meet Our New Production Incentives Specialist
Ashley Robinson
Please join us in welcoming the newest member of our TFC Incentives Department, Production Incentives Specialist Ashley Robinson!
Prior to joining the TFC, Ashley was a Co-Producer on AMC’s "Fear the Walking Dead", Executive Producer of "The Electrics", an Austin-based web series, and has produced a number of Texas shorts. Additionally, Ashley works to support diverse voices in the Austin film community through her volunteer efforts at local film festivals.
As our newest Production Incentives Specialist, Ashley is already assisting with a wide array of activities, including helping to coordinate project inquiries and incentive applications.
