Be Ready: Make a Plan and Assemble a Kit. Your family may not be together during an emergency, so having a plan that everyone is familiar with is important. Make sure you include a meeting place, important phone numbers, and ways to get emergency alerts in your plan. Assemble an emergency kit well in advance of an emergency. You may have to evacuate at a moment's notice and take your essentials with you. You may need to survive on your own after an emergency. Know what you need in your kit.
Prepare for Power Outages: Charge your phones and electronic devices now. Have flashlights, batteries, and non-perishable food items ready in the event of prolonged outages. Consider purchasing a portable battery or generator if necessary.
Travel Advisory: Avoid unnecessary travel during the storm. Expect road closures due to fallen trees, flash floods, or power outages. If you must drive, keep an emergency kit in your car with water, blankets, and first aid supplies.
Flooding Risk: Keep an eye on local flood warnings and stay clear of streams or creeks that could rise quickly.
Emergency Contacts: For life-threatening emergencies, dial 911 immediately.
Our office is closely monitoring the situation and will continue to provide updates as the storm progresses. Please take all necessary precautions and follow the guidance of local officials to stay safe.
