John, supertrawlers are wreaking havoc on our so-called ‘protected’ waters – monster fishing vessels with huge nets that could engulf a dozen jumbo jets [1].

Here’s the sad reality: ships like this can spend weeks at a time fishing in the UK’s Marine Protected Areas, threatening ocean life [2]. And right now, it’s all perfectly legal.

John, supertrawlers don’t belong in protected waters. Will you join our call for Prime Minister Keir Starmer to save our seas from destructive fishing and stand up for ocean protection?

It’s not just marine ecosystems bearing the brunt of this. Across the UK, small-scale fishermen say that they’re being pushed out of business by industrial giants. Our vibrant coastal communities once thrived on sustainable fishing, but are now struggling to compete with the sheer scale of industrial fishing.

These corporate giants threaten the rich traditions of sustainable fishing that have existed here for generations. Driven purely by profits, these supertrawlers undermine the long-term health of our seas and put livelihoods at risk.

John, we need to protect sustainable fishing from these harmful vessels. Will you add your name to our petition and help give back power to small-scale fisheries?

These supertrawlers are making a mockery out of our so-called ‘protected’ areas. Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) are specifically designed to preserve vital habitats and ecosystems in our waters – and yet, the government is letting these massive vessels run rampant in them.

It’s shameful: marine life is under attack. Every year, over one million turtles, seals, dolphins and seabirds are killed by fishing [3]. And still, these monstrous fishing vessels are being allowed to hoover up the wildlife from vulnerable ecosystems deemed scientifically special enough to protect.

Join our demand for better ocean protections. Will you sign our petition to ban destructive fishing and protect the health of our seas? It takes just 1 minute – less time than you’ve spent reading this email.
