Dear John,
Serving others.
That’s the calling for many people of faith and houses of worship. They provide food for the hungry, clothes for those in need and a place to stay for the homeless.
Yet, we are seeing an increase in cities threatening ministries that seek to serve the most vulnerable.
From Dad’s Place in Ohio to Gethsemani Baptist in Arizona to The Rock in Colorado, churches all over the country are under attack.
City leaders are literally criminalizing compassion.
Despite the hostility, Pastor Mike Polhemus of The Rock—a church in Castle Rock, Colorado—remains committed to continuing his mission to serve the suddenly homeless by providing them with a temporary place to stay.
Watch Pastor Mike tell the story of the church’s ministry to those who find themselves in critical need of assistance.
The Rock is a beacon of light. In the desperate moments when all hope seems lost, individuals and families like Taylor and her young son have been able to turn to this church for help.
And the church has answered the call by providing temporary housing.
But now, as The Rock is facing threats from city leaders, First Liberty has answered the call to fight for this church’s right to continue this important ministry.
Because of the support of people like you, we have won an important first victory in this case. The Rock is being allowed to continue their ministry while the case proceeds in court.
However, the fight is far from over. The city is determined to bring this ministry to an end.
With your continued support, we can make sure that doesn’t happen. And we will do it without ever sending the church a bill.
Will you stand with The Rock and their right to serve those in need?
Yes, I will make a gift today >>
Grateful for you,
Kelly
