Dear John,
Labour Conference in Liverpool has
been jam-packed with speeches, panels, fringe events, networking
dinners, and through it all one word seemed to be on every Labour
representative’s lips: ‘change’. In his speech, the Prime Minister
used the word 24 times. Angela Rayner, 11. Rachel Reeves, the
same.
But in their speeches, there was no
mention of the change Britain really needs - meaningful change to the
Brexit deal which continues to stifle growth, drive up costs and
deprive opportunities for businesses and young people
alike.
Best for Britain remains
laser-focussed on our objective of bringing the UK and the EU closer
together, protecting high British standards and protections from the
Brexit race to the bottom and restoring the freedoms British people
enjoyed as EU members.
By supporting our tactical
voting campaign at the last election, you played an important role
in dealing a historic defeat to the Conservative government, the
government that delivered Brexit, who could not be convinced of the
need for closer UK-EU relations.
The next step in our three step
plan is to convince the new government to back our fixes to the Brexit
deal starting with beneficial regulatory alignment and a Youth
Mobility Scheme.
That’s why Best for Britain was in
Liverpool.
