State Progress in Advancing Equity in Child Care

October 8th, 2024

2:00 PM ET / 1:00 PM CT

The Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP) and the Economic Policy Institute (EPI) invite you to join an upcoming webinar about equity in the child care and early education space. We are proud to co-sponsor this webinar with EPI's Economic Analysis and Research Network (EARN) as part of their EARNTalk series. EARN is a nationwide network of research, policy, and advocacy organizations fighting, state by state, for an economy that works for everyone.

This virtual webinar will feature a child care provider, administrator, parent advocate, and nonprofit leader who will discuss the work happening across states to strengthen the child care sector and address the inequities that make child care particularly inaccessible for people of color and people with low incomes. The panel will also review the current federal landscape for child care and what needs to change to help families access the care they need.

Speakers include:

  • Belvie Herbert, Senior Administrator at the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services
  • Carol Burnett, Executive Director of the Mississippi Low Income Child Care Initiative
  • Charis Davis, Parent Leader at Ohio Parent Advocacy Network (OPAN)
  • Kristi Givens, Founder and Executive Director of Kids of Excellence & co-founder of For Providers by Providers
  • Moderated by Rachel Wilensky, Senior Policy Analyst at CLASP

*Spanish interpretation will be available*
