As I’m sure you’ve probably heard, Mayor Adams was indicted on federal charges yesterday.

It’s a sad day for NYC. Trust in our public institutions — especially City Hall — is essential for our local democracy to function and for our city to flourish.

The hardworking people of New York City deserve a city government and leadership they can trust. Right now, they don’t have it. I’m running for Mayor to change that.

Like all New Yorkers, Mayor Adams deserves due process, the presumption of innocence, and his day in court. But our city deserves leadership that is fully focused on the job at hand.

That’s why I’m calling on Mayor Adams to step down, for the good of the City.

This urgent moment requires steady governance to ensure New York City can move forward and thrive. As NYC Comptroller, I promise to do my part to make sure that happens.

And if elected Mayor, I promise to lead a City Hall that every New Yorker can trust, that stays 100% dedicated to the people’s business, and that is focused every single day on delivering the safer, more affordable, more livable, and better-run city we so desperately need.
