At election time, Conservative politicians will often say they’re ‘for the people.’
But then they cut taxes for the wealthy and cut services for everyone else, friend.
Andrew Scheer has campaigned for years on weakening Canada’s public schools by subsidizing wealthy private schools with hundreds of millions of your federal tax dollars.
It’s a promise Scheer made to win the leadership of the Conservative Party, and now just weeks before the federal election, he wants us to believe he won’t follow through on making this huge private subsidy with your public funds – for now.
He’s not fooling anybody. He campaigned on this for 831 days.
It’s just like Ontario’s Doug Ford, who campaigned with promises of being ‘for the people,’ but then made cuts to public schools.
Taxpayer subsidies for wealthy parents to send their kids to private schools weakens the public education system.
While Conservative politicians are focused on going backward with giveaways to the very wealthiest and cuts that hurt Canadian families, Liberals are focused on our positive plan to invest in the middle class.
We need to raise $200,000 online before this week’s crucial mid-month deadline to ensure we can build strong campaigns all across Canada.
Chip in now to support the 2019 Re-Election Fund and help Justin Trudeau and the Liberal team earn another mandate in this fall’s important election.
