Our team at the Partnership is passionate about the work we do to help families overcome addiction. Maurizio Guerrero, our Associate Director, Spanish Language Content, recently shared his story about why he works for Partnership to End Addiction:

"I had the chance to cover the trial of the drug trafficker known as 'El Chapo'. That experience led me to write a book on how the so-called 'War on Drugs' had failed to stop the drug crisis in the U.S. and the related violence in Latin America. We do not need more militarization to save lives, but compassion.

Helping people to be safe and recover when they are ready is what saves lives. With this realization in mind, I started working with Partnership to End Addiction, an organization that does exactly that—helping families support their loved ones in their struggle with substance use. With compassion and evidence-based resources, we are going to counter the overdose epidemic ravaging the United States."

Maurizio understands that to end the addiction crisis, we need to meet people where they are, with compassion. He is dedicated to creating our free resources in Spanish for families.
