Dear Friends and Neighbors... There is less than a week to vote before the final Election Day on October 1st! Waits?! What?! While, elections for Presidents, Members of Congress and the Alaska Legislature are important, local elections play a key role in our local government and local elected officials work on everything from pot holes, to police and fire protection to local property taxes! In the last six days before the local in Fairbanks, Juneau and Ketchikan and a few others, would you consider volunteering and getting involved? It is important that good and common sense local candidates be elected to play the crucial role they play in our everyday life. I have been lucky to serve with a few, work with others and know them to be of good character and strong values of community, independence and strength. You'll be given a map of a neighborhood and specific addresses of progressive leaning voters to remind them to vote, and hand out our campaign literature. These are friendly neighbors who just need that extra personal touch to remind them about the election day. You'll be buddied up if you volunteer solo - so, grab a friend or family member to come along with you!
