We can turn the tide of Republican gerrymandering, John.
We already have:
We got a wake-up call in 2012, John: The GOP used map manipulation to choose their voters. Democrats in the U.S. House earned 1.4 million more votes than their Republican opponents — but ended up with 33 fewer seats.
Republicans used this electoral advantage to obstruct President Obama's agenda. Across the country, gerrymandered maps allowed radical lawmakers to restrict access to abortion, block common-sense gun safety measures, and make it harder for people to vote.
So the NDR PAC got to work, too:
- We rallied fair maps supporters around the country.
- We helped elect candidates who could ensure fair redistricting processes.
- We helped states enact reforms.
And our work… well… worked. The New York Times called the 2022 congressional maps the fairest in 50 years.
The maps are fairer, but they aren't perfect. Politicians still strive to pick their voters and will do anything to keep their hold on power. But they have to put up a hell of a fight thanks to our team and supporters like John.
