Friend,

Since taking office, Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have made one thing clear:
They will stop at nothing to ban gas-powered cars. Earlier this year, the
Biden-Harris Administration used an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rule
to institute a de facto electric vehicle mandate. This rule, if implemented,
would require two-thirds of all new cars to be electric by 2032. Michigan, a
state that knows more than anyone else the value of the auto industry, is under
a serious threat. This rule would not only destroy our auto industry but also
send thousands of jobs overseas, a prospect that should concern us all.

I want to be crystal clear. I will not stand aside quietly while Kamala
Harris, Joe Biden, and the radical progressives send our jobs, way of life, and
the middle class to communist China. That is why I led the charge to fight this
de-facto EV mandate, and I am thrilled to say that the bill passed the House of
Representatives last week!

As a former business leader in the auto-supply chain industry, I have
witnessed firsthand the potential damage that EV mandates could inflict on our
auto industry. I am deeply grateful that the House passed this measure to
prevent the Biden-Harris de facto EV mandate from outsourcing our jobs and
livelihoods to countries that do not share our American values.

Michigan is not afraid of the future, but we demand to be a part of it. I want
to assure you that I will always fight for you and our American way of life, a
way of life that we all cherish and strive to protect.

Your Friend,

Rep. John James (MI-10)
