Folks, it’s that time again: The FEC filing deadline is just days away. You’re going to hear a lot about this deadline over the next few days, and for good reason: It’s a big deal for battleground campaigns like ours.
But before I ask you to chip in to help us hit our goal this quarter, I want to explain how FEC deadlines work and why this one matters so much.
If you don’t have time to dive into the nitty-gritty of campaign finance, consider making a quick contribution now and save this email for later.
Let’s start with the basics.
The Federal Election Commission: The FEC regulates the money in our federal elections, ensuring they’re conducted freely and fairly, and protecting our democratic process from bad actors.
The End-of-Quarter deadline: At the end of each fiscal quarter, campaigns and PACs file a detailed finance report with the FEC that includes contributions, expenditures, transfers, and other important information. After two weeks, these reports are published and accessible to the public.
Your impact: Your generous contributions, no matter how big or small, make such a large impact. They demonstrate we have the resources and broad grassroots support to win this competitive race.
No matter how good our poker faces, once the cards are on the table, they know if we’re bluffing. So we’d better put our money where our mouth is.
This is our final report before early voting starts, so I’m asking for your help to make it our strongest of the entire cycle:
Will you pitch in $15 or $25 to give us a boost before this all-important deadline? Together, we can save our democracy and move forward into a brighter future.
