This weekend I had the opportunity to experience community engagement at its best. We’re partnering with Protect the Sacred [ [link removed] ] to turn out voters on the Navajo Nation so this weekend I went up to the Nation to participate in some of Protect the Sacred’s incredibly creative voter activations.
I arrived in time to join the last day of a six day horseback ride across the reservation. They stopped each day to register voters in towns along the way, ending at a festival at the Navajo Nation Museum on the last day. That was just the lead up to a truly wonderful event, bull riding and a free concert!

We spent the day handing out voter guides, registering voters, checking voter registration, and watching Native bull riders from across the region. Our guides were so popular, we’ve had requests from other organizations to print and ship more!
I’ll be back in a few weeks for a walk to the polls to bring awareness to early voting and to hand out more guides!
In other great news, our Vote by Mail in Jail [ [link removed] ] program is now in 80 jails in 13 states! This is a huge increase from our 33 jails in 2022 and we are working hard to get guides, materials, and more to every single jail in the next few weeks.
We have 41 days until November 5th! Can you help us get out the vote on the Navajo Nation, in 80 jails across the country, and to our communities and clients through our HUBS? Now is the time to take action!
Thanks so much,
Kat
