Hi John, it's Melanie Haas, Chair of the Kansas State Board of Education.

 

While you’ve rightfully heard a lot about the importance of breaking the Republican legislative supermajorities, I’m reaching out today because we also have 5 very important races on the ballot for the State Board of Education. A Pro-Public Education Board is hanging in the balance. 

 

That's why the Kansas Democrats are working hard to help the 5 Democrats running (including myself)—and I'm proud to be working alongside them.

 

John, with both Legislative and Board of Education races on the ballot, our strong public school systems are also on the ballot. Today, will you join the Kansas Dems and educators across our state with a contribution to help elect Pro-Public Education candidates this November?

The Kansas Democrats don't just support a strong public school education for all students, they know that a good education is the cornerstone of our democracy. 

 

We can’t afford out-of-touch, right-wing, weird extremists destabilizing our public schools and State Board of Education to serve special interests over our students.

 

While far-right elected officials and candidates try to divide us and tear down our institutions by siphoning funding away from our public schools, banning books from our childrens' libraries, and targeting our teachers, the Kansas Democrats and our candidates are ready to fight for our values and make sure our students get the education they deserve.
