Hola John,
Come rain or shine, immigrants nationwide are here to work. Whether it’s to better our communities or just put food on the table, Hispanics, and all people of color, are here to work.
So when we see craziness on the news about bomb threats, modern-day lynchings, and the classic “Mexican rapists,” it delegitimizes everything our families, our friends, and our cultures have worked for.
We can’t believe we have to ask this, but do you genuinely think people would risk their lives and futures to come to America just to commit atrocities like these?
Again, we are here to work to provide a better future for ourselves and our families.
And in case there was any doubt, work in the U.S. for the Hispanic community isn’t easy. We suffer from wage theft, unsafe working conditions, and discrimination on all fronts. For decades, activists have paved the way for unionization across immigrant-driven, blue-collar jobs, but there is still more to do.
This Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re urging you to stand with us in the fight for immigrant workers’ rights. Add your name TODAY to fight for unions, on-the-job protections, and much more. Unions are on the rise and they need all of the support they can get: [link removed]
