Friends,
As an immigrant from Pakistan and a Muslim American who has been fortunate enough to come to this great country and live the American dream as a doctor serving my community, as well as a serving as a commissioner of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, I am deeply saddened and angry over the racist and divisive language used by Donald Trump and J.D. Vance in their attempts to win the election through fear and lies. We cannot let hate win! Help out now!
Recent comments from Trump paint a troubling picture of his fitness to lead our country. His propensity to blame Jewish American’s for his potential electoral losses and to spread falsehoods about Haitian immigrants is not just irresponsible—it's dangerous. Such divisive language fosters hate and discrimination, undermining the fabric of our diverse society.
Moreover, his recent derogatory remarks towards Catholics, and his constant attacks on Muslim Americans and immigrants, demonstrate a blatant disregard for the values that make our nation great: inclusivity, respect, and unity. These actions not only alienate millions of Americans but also pose a direct threat to the principles of democracy and equality that we hold dear.
In contrast, my dear friend Vice President Harris embodies the leadership we need in these tumultuous times. She advocates for unity and understanding, and she is committed to representing all Americans, regardless of their background. It is imperative that we rally behind her and ensure she has the necessary resources to combat the misinformation and fear-mongering tactics that have become all too common in this election. We have just five weeks left, and every moment counts. Let’s work together to amplify her message, support her campaign, and drive voter turnout. Our future depends on it.
Sincerely,
Asif
