John,
Every Pennsylvanian deserves the freedom to be safe and feel safe in their community.
That’s why I’ve worked day in and day out to support the work of local law enforcement, invest in our communities and downtowns, and confront the threat of gun violence across Pennsylvania.
John, we’re investing $125 million annually to ensure Pennsylvania State Police have the resources and support they need to keep Pennsylvanians out of harm’s way. We’ve also secured over $16 million to train nearly 400 new troopers and fill staffing gaps.
Our first responders play a critical role in my mission to build safer communities all across the Commonwealth — which is why I’m proud to support them in every way I can as Pennsylvania’s Governor.
I’m also fully committed to taking on the epidemic of gun violence in our nation. Earlier this month, I re-established Pennsylvania’s Office of Gun Violence Prevention. Through this office, we’re going to bring together public safety experts, gun violence survivors, and leaders from state and local agencies to address, prevent, and find solutions to gun violence across the Commonwealth.
John, the good people of Pennsylvania deserve the freedom to walk down the street in your community without worrying about gun violence. And while we’ve made a lot of progress together to address this issue — like securing $10 million in funding for the successful Gun Violence Intervention and Prevention program — too many Pennsylvanians are still impacted by gun violence. That’s why I’ll never stop fighting to make our communities safer.
Pennsylvania’s local communities are the lifeblood of our Commonwealth — which is why I couldn’t be more proud to deliver investments that will make a real difference in the fight to keep our Commonwealth safe. John, I’m going to keep working around the clock to ensure all Pennsylvanians have the freedom to be safe from violence — and I’d be grateful to have your support in this important fight.
If you support a kind of leadership that invests in our communities and the hard-working Pennsylvanians who keep us safe, will you chip in today to support our team? We can never back down from this fight to keep the people of Pennsylvania safe.
