Dear Friend of EMET,
The coronavirus pandemic has inflicted a devastating toll around the world, including placing tremendous strain on small non-profit organizations, many of which have gone to great lengths to continue their important work despite austere constraints.
As you know only too well, the critical issues that we care about so deeply, the right of every Jew to live in safety and of the one and only Jewish state to have security and peace, preexisted the Coronavirus and will be as pressing as ever when we finally move past the pandemic. The Iranian regime cares little for its own people and continues its march toward nuclear weapons and regional hegemony. Hezbollah tightens its grip on the Lebanese government, and Turkey deepens its ties to Russia and Islamist groups while tilting away from its role as an American NATO ally.
That is why despite the current restrictions, EMET has been working harder than ever to compete for severely limited government bandwidth. Our efforts go on unabated, and with the leadership of some of our friends in Congress, we are circulating two very important Congressional letters. Quarantine provides a great opportunity to exercise your right as a citizen activist to contact your representatives and urge them to sign on to both.
In other good news, EMET is thrilled to announce that, thanks to some of our generous supporters, contributions to EMET on #GivingTuesdayNow — Tuesday, May 5th — will be matched! This is a critical opportunity for EMET to be empowered in our ongoing fight against antisemitism, in defense of Israel, and for justice for the victims of Palestinian terrorism. This one-time opportunity is all the more crucial in light of the fact that COVID-19 has forced the cancellation of our one annual fundraiser, our June Rays of Light Dinner.
If you are considering an investment in the essential work EMET continues to do to keep American and Israeli security priorities front of mind here in Washington, there is no better time to do so than tomorrow, Tuesday May 5th.
We are ever grateful for your support and will never surrender the fight.
Warm regards,
Sarah N. Stern
