If you are already registered but need to update your registration because of an address change or other circumstance, do an online search for your state's election authority to learn more. For example, here in Ohio, the Ohio Secretary of State's website can help get you connected with your county board of elections to update your registration.
Many states also allow for early in-person voting or absentee (mail) voting. I'd encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities to avoid the long lines that are expected on Election Day.
Despite what you may be hearing from the political candidates this year, in America, we make it very easy to vote and very hard to cheat. When there have been irregularities in the past, they are quickly caught by states and investigated. In the majority of instances, they were simple mistakes made, not intentional efforts to break the law.
We can all rest assured that regardless of where you live in our country, your vote will count and there will not be widespread cheating.
Don't miss your chance to vote in this year's election! Check your registration today.
