By now, friend, you probably know that Rick Scott has spent millions of dollars from his medicare fraud fortune on ads to drown out my campaign from the Florida airwaves.

Well, thanks to grassroots supporters like you, we're finally rising above the noise: I just launched my first statewide ad of the general election.

But Florida's ad market is one of the most expensive in the nation — so our next challenge is keeping it on the air.

Unlike my opponent who's worth a staggering nine figures, I can't do that from now until election night without your continued support. As someone who came to the United States from a country that suffered under a military dictatorship, for me, the fight for freedom is personal.

For too long, extremist Republicans like Scott have co-opted the protection of personal liberties as a top priority — but if we're honest with ourselves, the only "freedoms" he's fighting for in Congress are his own, trying to:

Scott's understanding of "freedom" begins and ends with himself and his ability to do, say, and spend anything to convince voters otherwise.

But because of grassroots supporters like you, we're finally busting his monopoly on the airwaves and letting voters know that they deserve better.

As Florida's next senator, you can count on me to fight for everyone's freedom to live as they choose — and not as extremists like Scott demand.
