Hello John,
For years, progressives have been at a disadvantage and we know it.
Conservatives spent decades packing school boards and then recruited those individuals to run for higher office very successfully.
We're finally fighting back.
The School Board Integrity Project is fighting to end the conservative dominance of these important offices. Last year we proved we could do it, winning 96% of the races in which we had a candidate, but this year the stakes are higher with 150 candidates (and counting!) taking the School Board Integrity Project pledge across the country.
This is about so much more than having a bench of progressive candidates. The decisions these school boards make have major repercussions for students and communities.
The far-right is trying to ban books, stop science, and roll back protections for LGBTQ+ students in schools across the country.
The School Board Integrity Project is fighting back to protect students' freedom to learn.
This means freedom to read intellectually engaging books, freedom to learn science and history without ideological bent, and the freedom to feel safe and welcome in the learning environment.
