Financial Wellness

Financial Wellness seminars increase your financial knowledge and help you learn the tools and skills to support lifelong financial health and stability.

Take Budgeting Nuts & Bolts to learn the basics of financial wellness, then follow that with Financial Wellness for the Entertainment Community Amid COVID-19Learn about resources, community, and support to help performing arts professionals maintain financial health and well-being during this challenging time. Each single-session online meeting will provide an overview of available federal and NY-based financial assistance and relief; discuss cash flow management strategies; and address as many of participants' questions as possible.

Health & Health Insurance

The Actors Fund offers personalized health insurance counseling and enrollment support, referrals to health care resources, and seminars on how to care for yourself. 

The Friedman Health Center for the Performing Arts, our primary care office in New York City, is conducting appointments via Telemedicine. If you are sick or not feeling well, do not come into the office. Please call instead. Our medical team is doing phone screenings for those concerned they may have COVID-19, and if necessary, can refer patients in the industry to a facility within the Mount Sinai Health System to follow up.  

Each month’s Health Insurance HQ provides an update on the health care landscape from the expert team at The Actors Fund’s Artists Health Insurance Resource Center. This month, learn tips and guidelines for how to apply for Medicare.

Housing

The Actors Fund operates several affordable housing residences across the country, and also offers resources to help you learn more about affordable housing opportunities and other housing-related issues you may encounter. All of our webinars will provide COVID-19 updates on critical housing issues like evictions, mortgage payments, utilities and rent.

Social Services

With respect and understanding, our professional social workers offer our community help to address a wide array of challenges via online and phone counseling and support groups, education and practical help—completely free of charge.
