Will you be one of our 50?
Wendell Berry has written a remarkable piece for The Christian Century, which we’re featuring as our cover story in the October issue. “We have become a society of people who cannot prevent our own children from being killed in their classrooms,” writes Berry, “and who do not much mind the killing of other people’s children by weapons of war.” Wow. It’s an insightful read, just as it’s beautifully written—another reminder of the Century’s commitment to high quality journalism.
Whether you’re familiar with our high journalistic standards or just recently getting acquainted with this magazine bearing an odd name, I wonder if you support it financially. We are a non-profit organization heavily dependent on generous donor support.
If you already give something of yourself to make our publication possible, thank you so much! Please continue that partnership. If you haven’t yet discovered the privilege of being a player in our viability, I hope you’ll click the DONATE NOW button below and put something of yourself into our publication.
We’re seeking 50 new donors this month who will join the awesome ranks of those committed to the Century’s operational needs. If you’re in the first 50, I look forward to sending you a personal note to let you know that we don’t take our donors for granted. Is this your day to step up? I hope so. In the meantime, keep enjoying the magazine.
Gratefully yours,
Peter W. Marty, Editor/Publisher
