We thought you might like to read a few recent stories from our Community Services team. They are a great reminder of of the real, tangible difference your donations make...

ONE BABY 👶

Two young parents in regional Victoria could not afford to provide a safe sleeping environment for their 13 month old. The best they could manage was a single mattress on the floor, pushed against a wall. Knowing this wasn't a safe sleeping space for their baby, but not having the resources to fix it, the parents reached out for help. An urgent delivery of a cot, meeting all Australians safety standards was arranged – and now the baby is in a safe and cosy sleeping environment. Much to the relief of his parents.

TWO BABIES 👶👶

A pregnant mother fleeing family violence with her toddler found it impossible to make ends meet. After paying her rent and bills every fortnight, all she has left is $75. That doesn't go far these days and she was in desperate need of essential items for her family. Her package from Our Village of a bundle of toddler clothing as well as nappies and toiletries for her newborn due any day now, made the world of difference.

THREE BABIES 👶👶👶

Our Village often supports families multiple times – as children grow they need new items to help them thrive at different stages. A perfect example of this is a young couple who were surprised with triplets earlier this year! It can be difficult having the resources to provide for one baby – but triplets make that task so much harder. A pre-loved and refurbished triple pram was prepared and delivered to the family – delighting Mum who can now get out and about with all of her babies. Now that they bigger and exploring the world of eating solids we have provided three high chairs, making mealtime easier and, vitally, much safer.

A mum of two children was struggling to balance finances and family life after recently becoming a single parent. Adding to that juggling act was the arrival of newborn twins! Mum is committed to taking her children to kinder, but doesn't drive. So for her that means a 50 minute walk each way, pushing a pram and carrying the twins in a sling. Providing a triple pram with a skateboard add-on has changed the lives of this little family of 5.

There you have it – proof that your support is making a difference to families with 1, 2, 3 or more babies!
