Hi, folks — Wendy Davis, former Texas State Senator here. I’m writing to you today because we deserve better.

Just this evening, I heard the harrowing story of a young couple eagerly expecting their hoped for second child and who instead experienced a nightmare. In her 13th week of pregnancy and after her baby’s heart had stopped more than a week earlier, this young mom almost died because her doctors were terrified of giving her the life-saving care that she needed. Despite several trips to the emergency room, and only after she was unconscious and near death did this young mom finally receive the care that she needed.

Women’s lives are literally on the line. And we need federal protections to insure that women who need care don’t die.

This is why I’m supporting my friend, pro-choice champion Michelle Vallejo, for Congress in TX-15. In one of the most flippable seats in the country, we have a chance to come together and say, “enough” to this inhumane control over women’s most personal and life-saving decisions.

Everything is on the line, folks.

In Texas, anti-choice Republicans like Michelle’s extremist opponent have forced women to flee out of state to receive reproductive care — IF they are fortunate enough to do so. Her anti-choice opponent celebrated when Roe v. Wade was overturned and supports letting Texas send doctors and nurses to prison for performing life-saving abortions. It’s time we replace these MAGA extremists with pro-choice leaders who will fight for women and our personal freedoms.

That’s why I’m supporting Michelle. She’s a powerful leader who is an advocate for Texans’ reproductive health, will stand up against MAGA attacks on our basic healthcare, and will be a true representative for the people of South Texas.
