This weekend, I joined a panel on PBS to explain the unique challenges that elections officials are facing in the 2024 election.

Here’s the point I hammered home:

Without even knowing the outcome of the November election, MAGA Republicans are preemptively sowing doubt about the results in case their candidate loses. 

And they’re even counting on election officials (like me and other Secretaries of State) to overturn the results if they don’t get their way. 

Let me be clear: we’re election administrators not politicians. I may be an elected official, but I can separate my duty from my preference.

I will always put the integrity of our elections and the will of the people above partisan interests.

With just 42 days to go until Election Day, we’re already seeing a surge in threats against our election officials. And the truth is, they’re only intensifying as extremists continue to spread misinformation and stoke fear.

My friends at the Democratic Association of Secretaries of State are monitoring these threats and are gearing up for these, but they need the support from grassroots Democrats like you.
