Youse guys might not have consensus on whether it’s Taylor Ham or pork roll, but we can agree on one thing: NJ is crucial to give Dems control of the House, and one of the best chances comes through Sue Altman’s campaign for NJ-07.

Right now, NJ-07 is a matchup between incumbent Republican Thomas Kean Jr. and Democrat Sue Altman.

So, what’s the deal in NJ-07? Republican incumbent Tom Kean defeated the Democratic candidate by three points in 2022 but Democrats held the district for numerous cycles before 2022, so flipping the seat is possible…and Sue Altman is the candidate to do it.

Sue Altman is a former coach, teacher, and a lifelong native of the New Jersey 7th. For years she has fought corruption in Trenton as the executive director of New Jersey Working Families Alliance. Whether it was taking Chris Christie on when he was cutting public education funding, holding corrupt South Jersey political party bosses accountable, working to keep tax payers’ money in their pockets, or fighting to defend women's reproductive freedoms, she has always put New Jersey families first.

Meanwhile, her opponent is the corruption in Trenton; Tom Kean, Jr. violated the STOCK Act his first year in Congress. And while he would have you believe he’s pro-choice, unfortunately, words have meanings. Kean has promised to “protect the unborn,” voted against codifying Roe v. Wade after the Dobbs decision, and voted in favor of legislation that would criminalize abortion. Kean would have you believe he’s not close to Trump but, unfortunately, actions have consequences. Kean endorsed an election denier and fundraised with “Stop the Steal” MAGA extremists.

If Altman is elected, Congress will gain another Democrat championing environmental protections, safeguarding access to abortion and contraceptives, enacting common sense gun violence prevention and lowering taxes for working class New Jerseyans. If Kean is re-elected, well, we’ll be one step closer to Project 2025.
