John, The future of Pennsylvania runs through our public schools. It runs through our farmlands. And it runs through our vibrant downtowns and main streets. I’m laser-focused on building a Pennsylvania where our schools are fully funded, our farmers are supported, and our communities are safe and thriving.
For the sake of our kids, our grandkids, and their future, we need to rise above blind partisanship. And here in Pennsylvania, that’s exactly what we’re doing. Earlier this year, Democrats and Republicans alike came together to invest $11 billion in K-12 public education — including the largest increase in funding in Pennsylvania history. After all, when we make investments in our schools, our students, and our teachers today, it pays off for generations to come. John, nearly 600,000 Pennsylvanians work in agriculture, and it contributes $132 billion to Pennsylvania’s economy. That’s why we also invested $10 million in agriculture innovation to ensure that our Commonwealth’s farmers have the best tools available to them to get the job done. John, when we invest in the success of our agriculture workers, we’re investing in the success of our Commonwealth as a whole. Finally, we worked across the aisle to invest $20 million in Pennsylvania’s main streets and the small businesses that line them. It’s no secret that small businesses are the backbone of Pennsylvania’s economy — which is why I’m so proud to support them in every way I can. With these investments, we’re expanding opportunities and good-paying jobs in rural, urban, and suburban communities alike.
