TAKE ACTION: We must protect vote-by-mail this election season >>
John, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy is actively undermining vote-by-mail this election season – and his newest scheme is to slow down mail delivery even more in rural communities. [1]
DeJoy’s mail delays and destructive plans are harming the voters who rely on vote-by-mail the most – including people in rural areas, indigenous communities, seniors, and veterans.
So with voters across the country already requesting their mail ballots and preparing to send them in to be counted, we must act NOW to protect every voter’s right to cast a ballot and be heard in our democracy.
John, it's up to us to demand that service be restored to the high standards we expect from our Postal Service – and ensure vote-by-mail runs smoothly this fall.
Who is Louis DeJoy? You may remember him as the GOP mega-donor with NO previous Postal Service experience who took over the USPS under former President Trump.
Since then, he has forced through a destructive 10-year plan that has slowed delivery standards to maximize profits – at the expense of everyday Americans. [2]
DeJoy’s plans have not only slowed delivery times, but they’ve also raised costs. Under his failed leadership, the USPS has hiked the price of “Forever” stamps several times, meaning customers like you and me are getting worse service for a higher cost. [1]
And as long as DeJoy continues to prioritize profits over people, vulnerable communities will continue to be disadvantaged at the ballot box. Our democracy works best when we can all participate, but we must stop DeJoy’s plans and protect vote-by-mail for that to happen.
John, if you agree, tell Postal Service leaders and your members of Congress to STOP DeJoy’s mail slowdowns and protect vote-by-mail this election season.
With your help, we can hold DeJoy accountable, protect absentee voters, and keep our democracy strong.
Thanks for all you do,
