John --
As you are likely aware, the White House is launching a major attack to not fund the U.S. Postal Service. Congress and the White House MUST fully fund our USPS in the next stimulus bill. We are asking for your support but not asking for any type of monetary donation.
WHY?
The Republicans want to bankrupt the Postal Service to allow private equity firms and global corporations to privatize, dismantle and profit further off of the American people. The USPS is a established mandate in the U.S. Constitution (Article 1, Section 8, Clause 7).
However, because of our current pandemic, they could run out of money by September if Congress fails to act. Democrats have been working hard for weeks to fully fund this agency. The Trump Administration recently blocked a bipartisan attempt to fund them.
The USPS is one of oldest and most reliable organizations in the country. As taxpayers we must protect this public service that has been a major lifeline for Americans for years.
